va - intricate maximals (audiobulb)

audiobulb records are coming back with their sixth release, a compilation, gathering known and unknown, but very interesting names in (pop)electronic scene. according to their previous releases we can get conclusion that they are interested in, as i said, pop electronic sound, sound that originate from idm, which means that we can freely define it as post idm. of course all this is wrapped in contemporary production incorporating glitchy moments. presentation of this sound starts with autistici short glitchy but calm piece. than idm-ish sound tone becomes visible. prhizzm present their self with broken warp like rhythm, dark distorted melodies and heavy bass. broken rhythms are characteristic for the rest of the tracks too. acoustic moments are also present as well as warm melodies combined with cut up vocals for example in the tracks of diagram of suburban chaos or cedar a.v. claudia in his/her short track is experimenting and disastrato plays with cut up samples. you can also find all this combinations, from most rhythm oriented, in the tracks from taavi tulev, marion, unscan, ochre, another elecronic musitian, built, to more experimental, in tracks from room, effacer, rodolphe kuffer. robin judge is also here, key figure in female minimal techno scene, offering deep and minimal track reminding of sound of his collaborator tomas jirku. the compilation is finishing in ambient driven sound bringing to the end quite another interesting listening pleasure that varies in the sound from track to track but still equalized in its production. visual aspect is also pleasurable. design of the cover is excellent again!
