emanuele errante - migrations (apegenine)
emanuele errante's around 40 minutes album 'migrations' (that is mastered by twerk) is released on apegenine recordings' chapitre series, that are dedicated to ambient music, field recordings and modern composition, and somehow it seems those three styles or approaches to music interfere in her very inspirational, enjoyable and wonderful music. in this music the subtle and warm electronics interfere with the acoustics, forming exceptionally balanced atmospheres in all 8 themes on the album, that are all instrumental but have a strong sensuality like they're songs, sung by the music emanuele errante creates. the video of the first piece 'rugiada', that is featured on the cd, is excellently made in a very abstract visual form that suites the music very well. but the main content here is the music, that draws the listener's attention closer and closer to what's happening with the sounds errante is useing with a very careful manners. it seems, in the approach and the instruments that are used (there are sounds of classical string instruments), briliantly fitting into each other, this music has a noticeable touch of a modern composition. while on the atmospheric level, it's pure ambient of a charmingly delightful and tasteful kind. and about the field recordings, they are carefully hidden, settled down and coming from the background, they almost can not be noticed at first, just as the warm and sometimes glitchy electronic sounds, that seem as if they're acoustic. but then, as the seemingly miniature compositions on 'migrations' are slowly developing through the repetitive musical motives, all the layers of sounds are patiently coming up on the surface, as if they're dug from somewhere below, maybe from below our common consciousness. 'migrations' by emanuele errante is a very lovely music, that somehow, in it's own mysterious ways, merges something from the ancient with pieces of the modern, in a very delicate way and in a language of it's own.
