Oscar makes a living by driving a taxi 12 hours every day. Ever irritated
by the constant bombarding of advertisements, he carries glue, paints and
cut-outs in the trunk of his Peugeot 504 and uses them to transform and
"improve" his visual environment. "The problem is that people accept advertising
as something natural, it doesn't even occur to them to act in response to
ads. It would be fantastic if everyone reacted and began to paint street
advertising in any way they fancied". Oscar Brahim will be presenting his
work for the first time in Europe.
On Saturday 8 at 6 pm, before Oscar Brahim's talk, there will be a screening of the documentary "Oscar" by Sergio Morkin (Argentina 2004), a portrait of Oscar Brahim filmed at the very beginning of the massive Argentinian economical crisis in 2001.
