violet rechord – zhopa (earlabs)

the dutch weblabel earlabs has just released a new collaborative mp3 ep by violet rechord. as the names tells, it’s a collaboration project between violet, which means jeff surak from zeromoon records and rechord, one of names under which is hiding andreas tilliander. maybe we can say that this ep represents the sound that both of these artists are producing but now in one piece or in one project. noisy glitchy flows by violet are noticeable, but also ambient streams can be heard, provided by tilliander of course. as he told me this material is made out of his samples given to jeff who destroyed, cut up and manipulate them to make blend of their recognizable sounds and approach. it starts as slow glitchy drive with dark ambient flow which later evolves into louder noisy amalgamation. delayed duby structure appears afterwards connecting itself with drone stream and driving together in the longest track. in same manner as it starts, this release finishes; in slow crackling ambiental texture interrupted by quiet deep bursts, making gentle structure. really nice piece of sound that represents styles and approach that both of this artists individually are doing. you can download it now here.
