va -  kikapu gold standard (kikapu)

as i already mentioned few reviews ago, in the last few years there are so many labels that treat the experimental electronic sound so it's hard to keep up with on this scene. regular labels, cdr labels, net labels… they all treat a quality sound and interesting artists. one of the net labels which has been seriously working on the above mentioned is kikapu. it is a net label that exists since 2002 and has released only mp3 singles, eps, and full-length editions. after all that work, kikapu decided with its 50th edition to give something more to the experimental electronic music community. it is a compilation on a cd and it is the culmination of these 2 years' work and represents the sound treated so far by this label. the compilation consists of artists who were involved in it with some edition. when it comes to sound, it is eclectic as the sound of the editions already released, but still around the electronic area starting from experimental to melodic. the sound varies between notech's quiet glitchy electronica or glomag's ingenious pop cut up sound, up to the melodic electronic pop of dubjay, eric laurence, mar.ch and cellular. on this compilation you can also find the extraordinary tracks of crashed by car, matt borghi, satellite grooves or stud, who are also directed towards the melodic experimental electronica or post idm sound with glitchy moments. if we make a comparison with other labels that treat similar sound: those would be morr music, city centre offices, merck… if you want to explore new eclectic territories of modern electronic music look into the kikapu's selection and their artists and have a quick look at this label's catalogue, listen to this compilation to the end.
