strotter inst. – monstranz (everest)

after the lp “schlepper” and some compilation tracks this is the first full length release of strotter inst. all of the sounds on this release are generated by manipulated and modified lenco-turntables without the use of any previously prepared samples. this release is very interesting also from another perspective. the first track is embossed in the nice looking digipack on small transparent record which can only be played on turntables and the last track is only downloadable off the net. between those two, there are eleven other tracks on the cd. this release shows another perspective of the everest records sound. in general music produced by strotter inst. is an atmospheric, fluid, glitchy driven sound that is changing constantly into full duration of the release and into each track separately. clicks, hums, scrapes, sighs, manipulated bass, drones… are the basic material for this chaotic sound amalgamation that is mutating from one form to another creating a strange, multilayered and rough ambient atmosphere. the eighth track is a thirty three minute long track that is showing the concept of this release in the best possible way in only one track. slowly evolving into its duration, slowly changing and adding more sounds periodically, it is gaining a trancey tone and feeling, than at the end it mixes into the next noisy track, which mixes into the last subtle, abstract, calm glitchy track on the cd. all in all, a very nice and interesting soundscape.
