lcd - 20' of free improvisation in sao paulo (testing ground)

the atmosphere is more coherent, in some way, on this 3"cd (the b-side project#5) by lcd. that's only one piece of music with, as the title says, 20 minutes of free improvisation in sao paulo. this is more coherent only because it's one piece of music with one way of improvising. lcd play their improvised music live without previous preparations or rehearsals. there are 4 people in the band and they use lots of instruments: synthesizer, sampler, kaoss pad, electric bass, apple 2, joystick shoebox, radar sentry, guitar, digital delay, analog devices and poly 800. since it's improvised music, of course it's diverse, sometimes it's like noise soundscape, but they also like to catch some rhythmic moments and stay there for a while, so the whole improvised atmosphere is quite balanced in a way. as a whole release, this second ep is closer to my taste, but there are good moments on velma's cd too.
