lapsed - twilight (ad noiseam)

twilight is a direction in sound, a direction in which berlin’s label ad noiseam is evidently moving. long ambiental falls, short slit microglitches and cut up background rhythms. it starts off in a dark, cordell klier style, as in the albums apparitions or winter, to later develop in a rythmical structure influenced by hip hop, break core, alt country, idm, industrial, techno...all of these styles fusioned in a new electronic combination with a contemporary production. jason stevens aka lapsed has evidently sublimed the history of music in this new combination while managing in a very modern manner to gain a new electronic style. experimental by sound, yet, classical as a whole. basically noise, still, ambental by its intention. disturbing, but in fact subtle. however, the sublimation which lapsed obtains with this combination of styles is completely inventive which is the only thing that’s needed in the enormous hyper productivity of the electronic music today.
