hydatid - awash with even (half theory)

hydatid comes from australia, a scene which is more and more intensively imposed lately with its electronic music. maybe not that many names come from here, however their quality is undeniable. david loose aka hydatid has created electronic compositions in brisbane since 1997 using a combination of software and hardware, exploring the digitalism as a philosophy of the sound creation with investigation of only-digital qualities. additionaly this album awash with even is created through the following principles: the sounds of clipping, lowered bit resolution, physical modelling synthesis, wave editing, algorithm distortion... this results in a dim low fi sound, mainly raw and lacking structure. the melodies are overlaid and at moments the rythm breaks over them. everything develops slowly and repetitively. The final outcome is a smothered pop like electronica with long ambiental falls and a retro ambiental sounding. even though it resembles the new pop electronica that is definately not its intention.
