everest – heimlich maneuver (everest)

heimlich maneuver is the second release by swiss label everest records owners matu and meienberg whose project is also called everest. the sound of this release is a bit different from the sound that can be found on my previously reviewed
compilation released for everest records. the sound of that compilation was probably a wide range of styles that everest would like to deal with and this is just one of the perspectives of their intention. everest makes hard rhythmic music with dark ambiental background. abstract broken rhythms combine with dark melodic soundscapes creating minimalistic, hypnotic and isolating atmosphere. this combination gives an impression of simple idm music, but anyway it has more to it with its minimalistic approach than simple idm electronica. if you listen to the whole release, this dark reflection of expressive melody, unfamiliar organic sounds, repeating samples and hard simple broken rhythm will give you a feeling of wide empty space where you can float alone in the feeling of your own isolationism. better be alone while listening to this release concentrating on perceiving yourself.
