cornucopia/pablo reche - nebula 9.3 (testing ground)

testing ground is an eclectic label based in barcelona. they've started the so called bside project with an idea and goal to release 10 3" cds with different kinds of contemporary experimental music presenting the current state of that music. the bside project no.6 is this mini cd with a great cover design called nebula 9.3 by cornucopia and pablo reche.
i've never heard of pablo reche before (he's from argentina), cornucopia are claudio chea and jorge castro from puerto rico (they've also collaborated with ultra milkmaids, kim cascone, andrew duke, tv pow, critikal, francisco lopez, duul drv and more) and nebula 9.3 is one 20 minute piece of music which is a joint work of cornucopia and pablo reche. there are different kinds of music and sound among the other bside projects but also few of them are close, in various ways, to the general drone aesthetic (like juka valkeapaa's cd no.3 and the first track from velma's cd no.4), nebula 9.3 being the one that's closest to that kind of slowly developing/changing sound expression. there are few different and fully present layers of sound this time that are alternately changing and successfully reaching the point when you're pulled inside the sound. and then you float and the artists play a little but very efficient between the borders where the sound is placed. sounds amazing and it's a really great release because it's an ep with 20 minutes of hidden treasure on a small 3" cd. there are more previous bside projects worth hearing (like lcd's improvisation or the ones mentioned before), but so far this one is my personal favourite.
